Military Service & Veteran Leadership. In 1965, Alphonso enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving with distinction during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1967. A recipient of two Purple Hearts for his actions in combat, he was honorably discharged in 1969.
Alphonso is a dedicated veteran advocate and seasoned real estate professional with over 40 years of experience in the mortgage and property industries. A decorated U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he has committed his post-military life to community organizing, organizational leadership, and ensuring fellow veterans receive their earned benefits through grassroots initiatives.
Continuing his commitment to the Corps, he serves on the Board of Directors for the 1st Battalion 9th Marines, where he is a key member of the Membership Committee. In this role, he focuses on the strategic promotion and growth of a local 1/9 Chapter. Furthermore, he has been instrumental in the recruitment and promotion of the Outside Advisory Committee, leveraging his network to strengthen veteran support structures.

Veteran Community Advocacy: Founder of a Riverdale-based Veteran Service Organization (VSO) dedicated to assisting veterans in securing their earned benefits at no cost. The organization prides itself on its 90% give-back rate to veteran and community initiatives.
Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA): Served for two years before founding and organizing VVA Chapter 964 in College Park, Georgia.

Spanning four decades, his career in the real estate and mortgage sectors is marked by deep industry knowledge and a long-term commitment to helping individuals navigate the complexities of property finance. His professional longevity reflects a high level of expertise and a reputation for reliability.

Personal He is the proud father of three accomplished professionals: a daughter specializing in oncology analytics; a son who is a Board Certified Neuropsychologist at Vanderbilt University; and a son who, following eight years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with the VA, currently serves as a commissioned officer in the United States Navy Medical Service Corps.
Alphonso is seeking election to the Board to continue his current initiatives and build on the ongoing programs moving forward. He realizes that while the Board has achieved much during this term, there is much more to be accomplished.
