The Emeritus Program recognizes individuals whose extraordinary dedication and service have significantly shaped our organization.
It expresses our deep gratitude for their lasting impact, ensuring their contributions remain honored and celebrated.
Program objectives
- Celebrate the efforts and achievements of past volunteers instrumental in advancing our mission.
- Foster meaningful connections with emeritus members to strengthen community bonds.
- Draw on their knowledge and experience to shape the future direction of the Association.
- Preserve and highlight the legacy of past volunteers for future generations.
How it works
- Members, volunteers, and board members nominate standout individuals.
- A selection committee of board members and leaders evaluates nominees on service length, impact, and alignment with our values.
- Emeritus members receive recognition, lifetime membership, and opportunities to serve in advisory roles.
- Honorees are celebrated at the National Reunion.
Guidelines
- Sustained, significant service over an extended period.
- Substantially advanced the mission through leadership, volunteerism, or active participation.
- Positive, lasting influence on our community of Marines, Corpsmen, families, and friends.
- Exceptional leadership and mentorship.
- Lives what 1/9 stands for: shows up when a brother or a family needs help, keeps the stories of those who came before alive, does the work without needing the credit, and treats every Marine, Corpsman, and family with respect.
- Nominations must include testimonials of the nominee's impact.
