From the Frontlines to the Homefront: Our Humanitarian Commitment

Welcome to the Humanitarian Aid section of the First Battalion Ninth Marines Association website. Our mission here is to serve our veterans and their families, by providing essential relief and support when it matters most. Explore our initiatives to learn how we're extending a helping hand to our brave veterans through various humanitarian aid programs.

We are proud to announce the formation of the 1/9 Association Humanitarian Committee, a beacon of hope for our members during times of emergent need. We stand together, ready to extend a helping hand when life throws unexpected challenges your way.

Born out of a shared desire to assist our members in need, the committee is a symbol of unity, camaraderie, and commitment. In 2022, we were able to lend support to one of our own, providing a $1000 lifeline to help a fellow Marine navigate through tough times.

This year, we've increased our budget to $3000, ready to step up whenever our members face an emergency. Whether it's a broken-down car threatening your livelihood or a short-term food crisis affecting your family, we're here to discuss options and provide assistance.

However, our commitment goes beyond financial aid. We also aim to guide you towards other sources of assistance, starting with the invaluable resources provided by the VA. Please note that to be eligible for our aid, you must be a member in good standing.

In addition to emergency aid, we will also be sharing helpful links and information on a regular basis. Our first recommendation is the VA website, a treasure trove of health programs for veterans, offering everything from chaplain services and vocational rehabilitation to disease prevention and mental health support. As the great Sir Francis Bacon once said, "Knowledge is power," and we're dedicated to empowering our members through access to these vital resources.
