For Director

Why I want to serve

Being a Marine was everything to me and still is everything to me. I recently tried to return to service but was denied due to prior service-connected issues. I forged some of my fondest memories with this unit and serving on the board has provided me with an outlet to continue being with and around my brothers and sisters. During my time on the board, I have been fortunate enough to help with several humanitarian issues for our Marine family and have seen firsthand the impact we have had. I think the Association needs solid leadership with individuals who don’t have ego problems so we can continue to grow this entity into the future. I do not have a set direction where I would like to see it go however, I do want to ensure we remain that foundation for our storied battalion and those who served under her colors.

Personal

I was born in Rockville, MD and spent most of my life growing up in Massachusetts. I moved to Florida with family in my early 20s and with no real direction found myself enlisting in the United States Marine Corps shortly thereafter. I shipped to MCRD Parris Island, SC in June of 2008 starting my Marine Corps journey. I would go on to serve two enlistments as an Infantryman and deployed to numerous places, most notably was two MEUs (2010 and 2014) and a combat deployment to Afghanistan (2011), before leaving the service in 2016. After leaving the service I utilized my GI Bill to pursue a college education, obtaining a Bachelor’s in Political Science with a concentration in International Affairs, and a Master’s in Strategic Intelligence and Analysis. I am currently enrolled in college again pursuing a Bachelor’s in Uncrewed Autonomous Systems, with the aim of using my education and military experience to grow my business Black Mountain Consulting LLC. (est. 2025) providing tactical training, medical and marksmanship training to local, state and federal agencies. I am the father to three awesome girls who keep me busy and three cats, who adopted us as their family.
