Kyle Schmechel served with 1st Battalion, 4th Marines from 2005 to 2007 and then with the Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity, leaving the Corps as a Sergeant in 2009. His experience in tactical communications and technology became the foundation for a career in cybersecurity, organizational leadership, and veteran entrepreneurship.
Kyle lives in Virginia and is the co-founder and Cyber Solutions Architect of The Cyber Space, a veteran-founded and woman-owned cybersecurity company that creates immersive training, crisis simulations, and live events. Over more than 20 years he has supported Navy, Marine Corps, and classified networks and held cybersecurity leadership roles with organizations including Sony, Illumina, HP Enterprise, Symantec Federal Consulting, and Information Security Media Group.
He serves the Association because he understands the bond Marines have with their units, and because his skills can help carry the mission forward.
On the Board he focuses on technology and cybersecurity, reunions and events, multimedia and storytelling, and meaningful ways for younger Marines to become active members and future leaders.
