Tim Leonardo

Chairman, Humanitarian Committee · Reunion Committee

Tim Leonardo was born in Rockville, Maryland, and grew up mostly in Massachusetts. He moved to Florida in his early 20s and, looking for direction, enlisted in the Marine Corps, shipping to Parris Island in June 2008.

He served eight years as an infantryman, first with 1st Battalion, 9th Marines from 2008 to 2012 and then with 1st Battalion, 6th Marines until 2016. His deployments included two MEUs and combat in Afghanistan in 2011. He left the service as a Sergeant.

Tim used his GI Bill to earn a Bachelor’s in Political Science and a Master’s in Strategic Intelligence and Analysis, and is now pursuing a Bachelor’s in Uncrewed Autonomous Systems. In 2025 he founded Black Mountain Consulting LLC, which provides tactical, medical, and marksmanship training to local, state, and federal agencies. He is the father of three girls and three cats who adopted the family.

On the Board he has helped with humanitarian cases for the Marine family and seen the impact firsthand, and he serves to keep the Association a foundation for the battalion and those who served under her colors.
