Our New Logo and Brand: What Changed and Why

1/9 Association has a new logo and brand, shared with members at our May 2025 members meeting.

What changed

We changed the association logo, the red and yellow version with the eagle, globe, and anchor. The unit logo, the grim reaper featured on our t-shirts and hoodies, stays. It is a historic mark that we will continue to honor as veterans.

Why the logo changed

The eagle, globe, and anchor is a trademark of the Marine Corps, so the association needs a mark of its own.

A grim reaper also ties our logo directly to The Walking Dead. When we see an eagle, globe, and anchor, we think Marine Corps. When we see a grim reaper, we think The Walking Dead.

The design honors our Vietnam veterans, and its other visual elements were inspired by the recruiting posters of the 1960s.

Why we rebranded

A brand also includes strategy: our mission, vision, and purpose. Two years of member surveys showed a number of different answers on what our mission and vision were. The rebrand documents one unified mission, like having clear marching orders.

It also helps our message reach younger veterans, and secures the legacy of every member.

The Walking Dead Lives.
