Programs
We serve those who served— providing the support, resources, and opportunities veterans and their families need to thrive beyond their service. Our programs are designed to offer pathways to purpose, connection, and growth.
From emergency humanitarian aid to scholarships, veteran resources, family support, and volunteer opportunities, each program is a commitment to 1/9 veterans.
Our Programs
-
Humanitarian Relief
When life takes an unexpected turn, we’re there. Our Humanitarian Relief program provides critical support to 1/9 veterans and their families in times of need. Whether it’s a medical emergency, natural disaster, or financial hardship, we stand ready to help those who have already given so much.
-
Bereavement
When a member of our brotherhood passes, we stand with their families. Our Bereavement Support program ensures that no family is forgotten. We reach out, offer comfort, send memorial flowers, and keep their loved ones connected to the 1/9 community. Because even in loss, they remain part of our story.
-
Scholarships
Education is a powerful tool for change. Our scholarship program supports the next generation of leaders – veterans, their families, and those who carry the legacy of the 1/9. These scholarships provide the opportunity to pursue higher education, vocational training, and personal growth, helping our community thrive beyond their service.
-
Historical Preservation
The 1/9 Association is dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of the battalion. From personal stories and photographs to artifacts and written records, we honor the sacrifices of our veterans by ensuring their experiences are never forgotten. We collect, protect, and share the history of the 1/9 so that future generations can understand the cost of freedom and the power of brotherhood.
-
The Walking Dead Podcast
The Walking Dead Podcast is where the voices of 1/9 veterans come together to share their stories, experiences, and insights. It’s a place for real, unfiltered conversations about service, brotherhood, and the challenges of life beyond the uniform. We cover topics that matter to the veteran community – from historic battles to life after service, mental health, and the ongoing fight for purpose.
-
The Proud Warrior
The Proud Warrior is the quarterly magazine of the 1/9 Association, capturing the stories, milestones, and experiences of our community. It highlights the successes of our veterans, the achievements of our association, and the ongoing impact of those who carry the legacy of the 1/9. It’s a place to share memories, reflect on our history, and celebrate the people who make our brotherhood strong.
-
Emeritus Members
Emeritus Members are the keepers of our legacy – veterans who have not only served with distinction, but have also made significant contributions to building the 1/9 Association. They are the storytellers, mentors, and leaders who have shaped our community, passed on their wisdom, and kept our brotherhood strong.
-
Volunteer Opportunities
Our volunteers are the backbone of the 1/9 Association, bringing our mission to life through their time, skills, and dedication. From supporting events and outreach efforts to mentoring fellow veterans and preserving our history, our volunteers play a critical role in building and sustaining our community.
